Maps & Explorers was a personal project. Its goal was to share adventures, books, and research on cartography and explorers, a topic I am passionate about.

The mandate:

As it was a personal project, where the content was the essence, the goal was to put it together quickly with minimum personalization.

The project:

We used an off-the-shelf WordPress theme. Black background emphasized the beauty of the photographs, and worked well with golden and burgundy typography. Even though this website is a few years old, I still find it rather appealing, with the gorgeous photography jumping off the page on the black background. I am also fond of the responsive grid layout and the original way of featuring the post category and publishing date.
